Baltic Day

Baltic Day Festival

For the first time in Dublin you will be able to see in one place all the three Baltic countries of traditional musical performances and dance steps, enjoy the national cuisine and see craftsmen products. The one-day festival will take part in the Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian singers and dancers, as well as some fair and activities for children.

Musical Performance: An Afternoon of Traditional Turkish Music

Join us for live Turkish music, including traditional Istanbul songs and the wonderful sounds of the kanun (a traditional Turkish string instrument) and the ney (an ancient cane flute). Supported by the Embassy of Turkey.

National Play Day

Families can join in the FREE afternoon of fun and games in one of the City’s favourite parks, Merrion Square.
According to Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr, “This is one of Dublin City Council’s family-friendly events taking place during the summer holidays.  Play is very important for all children, they need time and space to explore their own abilities, be creative and interact with other Children.  I hope that we get a great ‘playful’ crowd to Merrion Square and that all enjoy this free fun –filled afternoon.”

Wood Quay Summer Session

The Wood Quay Summer Sessions are a series of free lunchtime concerts which will take place in The Civic Offices Amphitheatre each Thursday in July. The aim of the sessions is to promote and support home grown musical talent. Last year’s sessions featured the very best of established and up and coming Irish bands. This year the event will feature performers from across a wide range of musical genres including Jazz, Trad, Folk and more. Early Years Workshop: Here we go round the Mulberry Bush

“Here we go round the Mulberry Bush” Using collage and crayons on large stiff card, the children will make a large mulberry bush and rose tree. When the work is assembled into a tree structure it will form the focal point of our activity – dancing, singing and rhyming in a circle.
