“Here we go round the Mulberry Bush” Using collage and crayons on large stiff card, the children will make a large mulberry bush and rose tree. When the work is assembled into a tree structure it will form the focal point of our activity – dancing, singing and rhyming in a circle.

Big Toddle for Barnardos
Toddle through the Fairy Wood, dare to walk over the Wonky Bridge to Scary Mary’s house, and continue on around the farm where you’ll get to meet some of the animals en route. Come early to take part in the Big Toddle craft activities or stay a little longer and enjoy the pony rides, travel on Tomas the Tank Engine, and get up close to some of the animals in the petting shed. The ever popular Teddy Bears Picnic will be a festival of all things Teddy with lots of fun, games and surprises all over the park, starting at 1pm and going on until 5pm. Everybody, young and old are invited to bring their bears and blankets to the picnic in Blackrock Park. We’ve all owned a Teddy Bear at some stage so this great afternoon is some time out to celebrate all things Bear. We’ll have free bear care and checkups at our very own Teddy Bears Hospital with minor repairs to give ailing Teddy Bears a new lease of life. There will be a DJ, face painting, bouncy castles and inflatable games for all ages, entertainment on the Lake Stage and of course, picnic facilities for your goodies galore.

The Wood Quay Summer Sessions are a series of free lunchtime concerts which will take place in The Civic Offices Amphitheatre each Thursday in July. The aim of the sessions is to promote and support home grown musical talent. Last year’s sessions featured the very best of established and up and coming Irish bands. This year the event will feature performers from across a wide range of musical genres including Jazz, Trad, Folk and more.
