Swords Summerfest

Following on from last year’s amazingly successful event Swords Summerfest will again return this year. Expect more of the same Family Fun entertainment and a whole raft of brilliant live music to keep you entertained. This is definitely one for the diary!

Holiday Family Workshops – Mornings at the Museum

Have some creative family time during the holidays. Children and grown-ups can enjoy visiting an exhibition and making artworks together in the gallery. Drop in.

Dublin Maker

Dublin Maker

Dublin Maker takes the form of a “show and tell” experience where inventors/makers sourced through an open call, will have an opportunity to showcase their creations in a carnival atmosphere. It is a family friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, authors and commercial exhibitors. They are of all ages and backgrounds, coming from all over Ireland and beyond. Dublin Maker’s mission is to entertain, inform and connect the makers of Ireland, while inspiring the next generation of Ireland’s makers and inventors.

Bray Air Display

Visitors will be treated to gravity-defying manoeuvres, fly-over’s and aerobatic performances that will leave you speechless. We promise you it’s going to be an incredible show!

While you wait for the activities to start in the skies over Bray there’s some great events / activities on the ground. They include a static display. Food & Craft Village and the Seafront Fun Fair (which is open from July 16th until August 1st (excluding July 25th & 26th).

Pond Dipping – Dublin Naturalists’ Field Club

A fun event exploring the weird and wonderful diversity of insects and mini beasts living in and around the pond at the Botanic Gardens. This workshop is suitable for children aged 8 and upwards.

Children’s Workshop: Budding Botanists – Flower pressing

Kids! Get great tips from the experts and you too can be a plant collector. Join us on an expedition through the Gardens identifying and collecting suitable plants for pressing before constructing your very own flower press and starting a dried plant collection.

Wood Quay Summer Session

The Wood Quay Summer Sessions are a series of free lunchtime concerts which will take place in The Civic Offices Amphitheatre each Thursday in July. The aim of the sessions is to promote and support home grown musical talent. Last year’s sessions featured the very best of established and up and coming Irish bands. This year the event will feature performers from across a wide range of musical genres including Jazz, Trad, Folk and more. Admission is free so grab your lunch, bring your friends and join us at The Wood Quay Summer Sessions this July. This event is brought to you by Dublin City Council’s Events Section.

The Enchanted Castle

Designed for the pre-schooler and older child up to 7 or 8, this concert is all about interacting with the music in a totally natural way.Making sounds, moving around, dressing up, standing completely still with mouth wide open, it’s all good with us!

We have play mats, lego, colouring, and musical worksheets for older children.  All are welcome to come and have a closer look at the instruments at the end of the concert.There will be time for them to go and investigate the instruments, to touch feel and pluck!

Classical Kids gives children a chance to enjoy classical music in a setting that allows them to learn, feel and express themselves.

When: Sunday August 21st from 10-11 or 11.30-12.30

How much: An Adult ticket is €15, and allows you to bring up to three accompanying children completely FREE of charge
