Saturday Family Workshop – ‘A Riverside Picnic’ with Jane Bowe

The free Saturday Family Workshops encourage families to enjoy creating and learning together as they explore our collection and exhibitions through drawing, crafts, and storytelling.All materials are provided.

When: Saturday at 3pm
Where: Atrium, National Gallery of Ireland, Merrion Square West, Dublin 2
How much: Free – number of participants: 40, on a first come, first served basis (including children & their guardians) Places are limited, so come early to avoid disappointment.
Ages: The workshops are most suitable for families with children aged 4-10.


Cabinteely house

Take a guided tour of Cabinteely House

a stunning eighteenth-century country house. Hear the colourful story of the house including itsoriginal owner Robert Nugent and his rise up the social and political ladder as well as Joseph McGrath, revolutionary and key figure in the Irish Sweepstakes.  Limited wheelchair access — if possible please phone in advance for wheelchair access.

When: Sunday 2-5, tours leave on the hour.
Where: Meet at the front of Cabinteely House, Cabinteely Park, Cabinteely, Co. Dublin.

The Office of Public Works is pleased to announce that on the first Wednesday of every month all OPW managed Heritage Sites will continue to offer FREE ADMISSION to individuals wishing to visit these sites for the duration of their season!

The Ronald McDonald House Charity will be holding its annual #Walk4Families event in various locations nationwide. Each walk will be approximately 5 kilometers. Please feel free to walk as far as you can. Kids in buggies more than welcome. Help us build a new 53 bedroom Ronald McDonald House alongside the New National Children’s Hospital.

When: 10th September 2016 at 2pm

Family Concert: A Space Odyssey with the ECO Band

Astronauts and space exploration are the themes for today’s interstellar outing with the ECO band. Climb aboard our spaceship and join us on a journey through space, time and music. Expect some familiar space-themed tunes with a jazz twist, as well as some inter-galactic surprises!

Created by Oscar award-winning BreakThru Films, this animated film concert, with live solo piano performed by Michael McHale, introduces the music of Chopin with a set of unique animations. Join Anna and Chip-Chip’s adventure of discovery aboard a magic, flying piano and enjoy The Chopin Shorts, a collection of short films set to Chopin études.
